Nature School Program (NSP)

Nature School Program (NSP) is an interactive educational approach that NCI-Nepal put forward to introduce the understanding of different aspects of local biodiversity and current environmental issues among school students Inquiry-based learning; integrated learning, experimental learning and stewardship are the basic approaches of NSP. NSP will develop students with the knowledge, skills, perspectives and practices that they require to be competent and responsible citizens. NSP will identify the roles and responsibilities of schoolchildren and motivates them for nature conservation in their formative stage via different roots and shoots programs.

These activities incorporate the lesson-based learnings and outdoor learnings that may vary and can depend on season, community context, climate, landscape, plants and animals at their place. NSP aims at mainstreaming its activities within school class hours. In NSP works as understudy to spend a half-day and more in outdoors in local natural spaces, forests and grasslands to let students learn much more about nature.
